Kaddy Nylen has always been a storyteller, even before she called herself one.
She’s a trainer, an encourager, and someone who pays close attention to people and real life moments. She believes ordinary moments can build real strength.
A self-described “gray chick turned flamingo,” Kaddy writes with honesty, humor, and a whole lot of pink. Her goal is simple: help people stand tall right where they are.
For years, she blended in. Now, she uses her voice to help others rediscover their own pink. Her stories are shaped by the people she loves, the communities she’s served, and the lessons she’s learned along the way.
When she’s not writing, you’ll find her floating in the pool, laughing with her family, or sitting under her aqua umbrella surrounded by flamingos—both in her yard and in her life.
She believes joy is something you practice, boundaries matter, and everyone deserves to find their pink.

Grace, Grit, and Choosing to Stand Out in a Gray World
What if your truest, boldest self has been hiding under gray feathers all along?
The Flamingo Philosophy is a journey of finding pink, courage, and belonging in a gray world.
For years, Kaddy Nylen saw herself as the gray chick—quiet, cautious, never quite fitting in. Life brought its share of challenges: grief, financial strain, family changes, the exhaustion of overgiving, and the emotional weight of being an empath in a loud world. But underneath it all, something was waiting to shine—her flamingo pink.
In The Flamingo Philosophy, Kaddy shares real, everyday stories—from childhood moments of blending in to the courage of adopting as a single mom, from heartbreak and doubt to the joy of reclaiming her pink and learning boundaries that actually hold.
With honesty, humor, and hope, she helps you:
This isn’t a book about being loud or perfect. It’s about being real.
Whether you feel quiet or bold, overwhelmed or ready for something more, you already have what it takes to be a flamingo—vibrant, resilient, and fully yourself.
It’s time to find your pink.
