Kaddy Nylen has always been a storyteller—long before she believed she was one. A trainer, encourager, and lifelong observer of human nature, she believes that ordinary moments can shape extraordinary strength. A self described “gray chick turned flamingo,” she writes with honesty, humor, and a whole lot of pink, inviting others to stand tall exactly where they are. A former gray chick who spent years blending in, Kaddy now uses her voice to help others rediscover their own pink. She brings a tender, real life wisdom to every story she tells—shaped by the people she loves, the communities she’s served, and the lessons she’s learned along the way. When she’s not writing, you can find her floating in the pool, laughing with her family, or sitting under her aqua umbrella surrounded by flamingos—both the ones in her yard and the ones who walk through life beside her. She believes joy is a practice, boundaries are sacred, and everyone deserves to find their pink.

Grace, Grit, and Choosing to Stand Out in a Gray World
What if your truest, boldest self has been hiding under gray feathers all along?
The Flamingo Philosophy is an ordinary-but-extraordinary journey of finding pink, courage, and belonging in a gray world.
For years, Kaddy Nylen saw herself as the gray chick—quiet, cautious, never quite fitting in. Life handed her its share of struggles: grief, financial strain, family upheaval, the exhaustion of overgiving, and the emotional weight of being an empath in a loud world. But beneath it all was something waiting to shine—her flamingo pink.
In The Flamingo Philosophy, Kaddy invites you into her ordinary‑but‑extraordinary stories: childhood moments of blending in, the courage of adopting as a single mom, the heartbreak of loss, the spirals of doubt, the joy of reclaiming pink, and the deep work of boundaries and belonging. With honesty, humor, and hope, she helps you:
This is not a book about being loud or perfect. It’s about being real. Whether you’re introverted or bold, overwhelmed or rediscovering your spark, you already carry the potential to be a flamingo: vibrant, resilient, and unapologetically yourself.
It’s time to find your pink.
